Be that which you seek! 02/09/2011
Does it really help to tell someone what they should be or do if you don’t practice what you preach yourself? If you cannot because it is “hard to do”, then why would we think that someone else can? Are they equipped differently than we are? Why ask another to be that which we find it difficult to be ourselves? Consider this: Be that which you seek! I am learning that the things which I desire to experience, starts with me first. To seek honesty, trustworthiness, patience, kindness or any virtuous way of living, I must be that which I seek first. How can I ask others to be something that I cannot be myself? How can I look at another, find fault or be hypocritical and expect to experience anything other than that which I project towards others? In being a person of integrity, honest, trustworthy, patient, I get to experience it first hand because I have become these things! When I forgive myself or others, I get to experience it first hand. Also, as I am "being" or "living" my life in this way, others experience these virtuous qualities through me as I interact with them. By being that which I seek to experience or as we like to say, " practicing what we preach", ...I get to experience life as I create it...and attract it to me; by being it! It suddenly became clear to me that the Law of attraction is really about being that which you seek! And the other rule that is often quoted, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", makes it clear that the buck really starts with the finger pointed at the person in the mirror! 2 Comments | AuthorWrite something about yourself.
